Hello, CRPhotography members! :eager:
This month, the photography category
which will be spotlighted for the entire
month will be: Photojournalism.
If you entered April's contest, be aware that the winners will
be announced in the middle of the month!

 What's the theme?

  • Photojournalism, as in deviantART's photo category.  [Photojournalism gives us newsworthy photographs wherein the primary motivation is to recount a story not assist a story. If you're with me, chant this mantra over and over: "Photojournalism = Newsworthy Photographs". If you're not sure, imagine if your photograph would land on your daily newspapers.]
  • Some examples are:

Changes by Saturns-Child A jazzy trio - Masaai Mara by siddhartha19 Shaka Ponk by psykozz

Are you affiliated with somebody in the media? No? Find one if you're truly aspiring to be a photojournalist. In any industry, you'll start from scratch, taking photographs of opening ceremonies, cheque presentations, traffic report, political speeches, and all those other mundane stuffs. Work your way up the ladder by proving yourself if you actually land a stint with the press. May take 4 to 6 years before you or your editor find the potential of working your own headlines. However, if you're on your own, you can either outsource yourself like what Peter Parker did in Spiderman, selling your photographs (as what CNN would call iReporters) to a pre

The rest are a piece of my mind which I'm hoping people would understand easily so that you will not continue to submit into the wrong subgalleries again. Sample photographs will follow suit soon.

As Photojournalism Gallery Director it is my duty to bring to you the BEST photographers and deviations that come out of the photojournalism gallery. To me photojournalism is all about getting "the shot". What is "the shot"?  Well it's the one that brings you there, the photo that in one frame can tell you the story of a particular "newsworthy" event, be it a concert of your favourite band, movie premiere, a protest against a government, sporting event or even a street festival. Sadly, I have to say that 30 pictures of your cat Fluffy in various sleeping positions are just not newsworthy, so please post the
Street and Photojournalism, a comprehensive guide.Street photography in it self is quite confusing..  I mean, signs, lights, cars, etc..  They are all on the street, so they are street right?
Wrong.
Street is a little more complex, and back in the beginning was given an unfortunate name that many people dont understand.
Street photography is a type of documentary photography that usually features people in candid situations in public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions, and other settings.
A few examples of street:
The subject is obviously aware of the camera in his face, but the difference between this being street, or being a portrait, is the way the subject interacts with the scene.  It is not posed, not rehearsed, and MyPrivateParty's subject has just be chance, come down the street, not expecting to be photographed.

I will never see one of my pics in any newpaper. I have more respect for my fellow human beeings
than people working in the news buisness. I had a lecture by one of those evil things once and
after the leture everybody that heard it was schocked by that socalled humans inhumanity.
But one thing I can do is leave your now and leave the filth to the rest of you. Bey.
